Christmas 2011

Dear friends,

Time for Christmas and New Year’s greetings!  Seems it was not that long since the writing of the same letter for 2010!  Here is our annual update on the MacFadden clan (extended).

Erin and Adrian Outlaw welcomed the arrival of their new daughter, Audrey, in September!  Audrey is such a good baby.  She was born in Fort Benning, Georgia, where her daddy Adrian is the commanding officer of an artillery battery.  Erin and Adrian are living on post; their home is in close proximity to the athletic fields where Kyleigh, now eight years old, plays soccer.  Kyleigh has started winter basketball, and is enjoying second grade at Dexter Elementary school on base. Kyleigh is an avid reader and was chosen to be “Frosty the Snowman” in the school play!  The Outlaw home is just the right size for Erin, Adrian, Kyleigh, Audrey, their two dogs.

Kelly and Chris Evans are living in Fairfax for the next few months, however soon they will be moving into their new home that they are building down in King George County, VA.  Kelly is still flying; this will be her 10 year anniversary with Southwest Airlines.  Chris will be starting his second year with the Department of the Navy.  Chris and I are sometimes skeet shooting buddies.  Chris and Kelly are looking forward to an exciting year filled with many new adventures!

Kitty is still CEO of our happy home by the pond on the old family farm.  She is the nicest grandma.  Kitty continues to work as a dental hygienist three days per week.  When not working, she is always planning a family get together of some type or another!  Although multiple foot surgeries slowed her down over nine months she still managed to keep an active social life.   Her sister Shawn flew down from Chicago to play “Florence Nightingale” during her recovery.  Kitty organized a family vacation in South Carolina in June, and she accompanied her brother Gene and BFF, sister-in-law Betsy, on a trip to Vietnam and Laos in late October.

Gary is overjoyed at being a grandpa. I am active in our church’s choir. Hobbies are the Harley, shooting, and working out at the university (George Mason) gym.  I add a regular course of chiropractic and therapeutic massage to this regimen.  I had the lights up for Christmas right after Thanksgiving. My father passed away in November, but not before we enjoyed a wonderful MacFadden family reunion at our home in May.

All the kids and grand kids are with us in Fairfax Station for Christmas this year. We count our many blessings.  God bless you at Christmas and throughout in the whole of 2012.
